John and his 2CV, Gig Harbor, WA

At long last, the AIDA finally arrives in Tacoma on Feb 19th and on the 21st after some waybill number hassles between the shipping company and US Customs, I was able to take delivery at the Port of Tacoma.
After the State Patrol inspection and the grueling DMV (Department of Mental Vacancies) registration I finally drove home.
Unfortunately I had to remove the old France plates (according to State Patrol) that fit much better than our Washington plates but with some trimming they look fine.
This car is everything (and more) than I expected.
Sylvain has done a very good job with the small details, things that mean a lot to an industrial designer.
The car looks great and runs like a top (once I figured out the choke isn't the hood latch release!)
The operator's manual I downloaded isn't the correct one for the year of the car but I will manage fine.
So, even though the wait was rather long, thanks to both of you for your efforts in getting me behind the wheel of one of the best designed cars in automotive history. I love it and, yes, it does cause people to stop and stare or inquire (from the port to DMV and all the way home) so maybe other orders will come through from this area. Shouldn't be too hard it seems, what with all the looks it gets when I drive through town.
As promised, I have attached a photo of me with my new toy.
Merci beaucoup!
Regards,

John, Gig Harbor, WA
